Algaefix 8oz
Fast-acting API POND Algaefix 8oz Algae Control works to control algae growth in ponds, water gardens, and fountains, keeping water clean and clear. API POND ALGAEFIX Algae Control works to control Green or Green water algae, String or Hair algae and Blanketweed. Will not harm fish and plants when used as directed. API POND ALGAEFIX Algae Control is for pond and fountain use only, where water is contained without any outflow. Ponds must have adequate aeration to maintain sufficient oxygen levels for fish, especially in warmer weather.
Algae growth can appear as “green water” blooms, “pea-green soup”, filamentous algae on plants, or floating mats (blanket weed). Algae grows when there is an excessive amount of nutrients in the water, usually in spring prior to plant growth, and in the summer in direct sun.
Application: For accurate measurement determine pond volume prior to treating. Add 1 teaspoon for every 50 gallons of water, or 1 quarter cup for each 600 gallons of pond water. Add treatment near pump, outflow, aeration device, or waterfall to maximize distribution. Repeat dose every three days until algae is controlled. Remove dead algae by hand, tool, or siphon. After algae is controlled, add one dose per week. DO NOT use with freshwater crustaceans.
