Copper Sulfate, while effective at its core purpose, has many disadvantages that make it controversial for use in water gardening. Copper Sulfate is toxic to humans. It quickly sinks and doesn’t biodegrade resulting in sedimentary build-up and a very high-cost to dispose of and fix.
